Hi every one, I am going to need as may opinions as possible for this one!! I am currently doing some general studies course work at collage and i need to find out wether off road biking (Enduro, Trail riding and Mx) is on the increase or decrease. What is your opinion? It will be a great help!!! Thanks Twiggy
I would say that hare and hound racing is on the increase, untill the cost of racing starts to hit peoples pockets. Entry fee £35-45, fuel 15-20litres £20-25. oil, tyres etc, OH what the hell we are only down here once go for it, there will be a day when your body wont let your ride, so enjoy it while you can!!!
20 years ago there was only round SIX enduro/hare & hound events in the whole of the south west. In the last 2 years there was probably over 30. It is still on the increase, but the forthcoming recession will probably put an end to a lot of it due to lack of cash.
Trail riding was almost unheard of 20 years ago, it got very busy on the lanes 5-10 years ago and is a bit quieter now, but still a lot more than 20 years ago.
MX - I have no idea if there are more, or less.
Trials - I have no idea if there are more, or less.
Speedway - Seems to be dying a slow death.
SX - is on the increase.
Grass Track - I have no idea if there are more, or less.
Thanks for that guys.... This is a great help.... I think your all right.... Though when people say racing is real expencive i agree but if your determind enough people can get away with it. I dont belive that if you like your riding enough, people are willing to give it up because they are tight for cash. I am only 16 and i rearlise that i dont have to fund a family and keep a roof over my head but i have brought my own brand new bike and i have brought a whole workshop and i can still afford to race and i fund all of this with a small weekend job mowing lawns and laying headges. Thanks, keep them coming ben
